STEINROHNER is Caroline Rohner (1987), routs in Switzerland, and blossoms and flowers in Berlin.
STEINROHNER is founded in 2013 by Caroline Rohner and Inna Stein following their Fashion Design Studies at KHB Kunsthochschule Weissensee Berlin. In the course of time, the two designers decide to take different paths, while STEINROHNER begins to flourish under the leadership and creative feather of Caroline Rohner.
STEINROHNER's creations move confidently and yet playfully between fashion and art, thus establishing a new style beyond conventions – “couture de la rue” at the cutting edge of haute couture and wearability.
STEINROHNER draws its inspiration from pictures, films, stories, people and icons. By allowing the environment to tell stories – by listening to and interacting with these stories, Caroline Rohner enables a dialogue between the environment and her creations. The result being, a piece of clothing art walking the streets, which in its wearability and authenticity does not fail to dress.
STEINROHNER is “Couture de la rue” – Avant-garde, but sensitive structures, define selected textiles and take the wearer away with them into a parallel world of dreams, phantasy and clear lines – modern laser cut technologies interplay with traditional knit and handcraft techniques creating a phantasy world where the clothes, apparently playfully, unfurl into an atmospherically scented silhouette to be walked into the streets.
In 2015 the two designers are awarded the Young Designers’ Award Germany 2015, present at the World Expo 2015 with Mode Suisse, and exhibited at Premium Berlin SS16 followed by multiple participation in showrooms at Paris Fashion Week, Shows at Berlin Fashion Week and Mode Suisse Edition Zurich and Helsinki Fashion Week. In February 2018 STEINROHNER exhibited two of their creations during an exhibition organised by the Fashion Council Germany and the German Embassy during Fashion Week London SS2018 as well as presents their latest Édition FLORA in the Berlin Showroom during Paris Fashion Week SS2018 from 1-6 March 2018
